Listen to a read aloud of the book "Harold and the Purple Crayon." Talk about Harold's imagination and use your imagination to create a fun artwork with shapes!

Step One:

Step Two:
Cut out some purple shapes! Circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, etc. This can be an adult or child step
Step Three:
Play with the shapes and see what you can create! No glue yet! You can ask your child: What shapes would we need to make a (house, tree, hot air balloon, sun, person, etc.)?
Step Four:
Glue the shapes onto black paper.
Step Five:
Add details with purple crayon.
