Overview:
During this project your child will have fun learning about and tracing shadows. Add more fun by tracing various objects and/or talking about shadows
Project Directions:
Step One:
Create a background using ripped paper strips. The colors should match the object that is being traced. For example in the photo above the giraffes were traced over a sunset background, a fish might be traced over a blue/green background, a motorcycle over a road and sky background, etc.
Tip: Don't let any straight edges show, start gluing ripped paper strips at the top of the page and work your way down to the bottom overlapping the strips as you go.

Step Two:
Step up your objects. You can do this project outdoors or indoors with a direct light source. What objects are you going to use?

Step Three:
Trace your shadows onto your background using a writing/coloring material.
Step Four:
Paint or color in your shadows with black or dark colored paint/coloring material.
