-If you don't have scissors rip materials as needed

Overview: 

During this project your child will create a setting using craft supplies or found objects. The pictures show one example of a peephole box with fairytale gnome forest setting. Your child can create any setting they want including but not limited to indoors, underwater, outerspace, woods, soccer field, or farm. What type of setting can you come up with?

Project Directions:

 

Step One:

Cut a peephole in the short side of the cardboard box. Decorate the outside of the box if desired.

Step Two: 

Decorate the inside walls keeping the setting in mind. You can use paint, a drawing, magazine paper, etc. In the fairy gnome forest setting it makes sense to use a woods background but it wouldn't make sense to use a woods background in an underwater setting.

Step Three: 

Add objects. These can be found objects such as toys or rocks. You can also create your own objects using craft materials. Look through the peephole often as you are setting up your objects until you are happy with their placement.

 

Helpful Hint:

If you create your objects but they won't stand up try using a paper clip or making a cardboard triangle to help your drawing stand upright. See pictures below:
