-Origami paper OR white/colored copy paper (6 to 18 pieces) 

-Scissors

 

Alternative Supply List: 

-If you don’t have origami/copy paper use other thin paper such as magazine 

  pages, newspaper, etc. The paper must be the same size

-If you don’t have scissors you can rip the paper

Overview: 

In this project you will learn how to create a box and/or star origami sculpture. Origami is the art of paper folding. In any origami project you only need paper to create an interesting sculpture. Since origami starts with a square piece of paper during the first two steps you will fold and cut the paper into a square but besides that this project is solely created just by folding and assembling paper pieces together. The flat paper is 2-D and the finished box and star are 3-D. How are they different from each other?

Project Directions:

Folding:

You will need 6 pieces of paper to make a box and 12 pieces of paper to make a star. If you would like to make both you need 18 pieces of paper or if you are using copy paper I will show you how to create both with just 12 pieces of paper. All papers are folded with the same steps. If you have origami or square paper skip the first two steps in the video. These steps are only completed to get a square paper.
